Style has changed... for the better?

I absolutely LOVE DK Eyewitness Travel guides, and DK books in-general. This was my 12th. This new style... it's not my favorite. I know matte-looking photos are all the rage, and the photos found inside are beautiful, but they're darker it seems... less clear. The whole style has changed... my wife likes it a lot... so know that if you purchase a 2020 Eyewitness book. It's still well put-together, but I chose DK books precisely because of their visual style, which has now changed. I'll definitely buy more of these books, but will look for the pre-2020 versions...

Great guide

DK's Eyewitness guides are great -- straightforward info on what places there are to see, why they are important/interesting, and how to find them. Their guides help you make an educated plan on how to best to use your time on your vacation to see what you want to see -- not what someone else thinks you should see. This is the 3rd DK Eyewitness guide I've had (Florence, London and also this Paris version) and they have all been great. Includes a laminated pocket-sized map that is also quite helpful

Excellent guide!

Great pictures, up-to-date information. Very complete, only wish is that it had more restaurant recommendations.

The pictures mean more than words.

My favorite of all the travels guides because of the pictures used for practically everything they mention. No other guide book compares. If you buy more than one make sure this is your first choice.

Production quality not what it used to be

First, of course the book has great descriptions and information. But the quality? Meh. What happened? The pages of these guides used to be filled with rich, glossy photos. (I have collected about a dozen over the years,) Not any more. Just regular paper. Such a disappointment.

Good travel tips

Good book with some excellent tips.

Awesome

Very useful, great content, easy to use. My go to guide since 2002.

Paris travel guide...GREAT!!

Great tips and recommendations...love it!

Perfect trip planner

Being lucky enough to have travelled a few times in the past, I’ve learned that it certainly pays to plan a city trip to a certain degree before you travel. Note the ‘Must See’ and the ‘if we have time’s’. You can then plan your days accordingly, saving you darting To and from one end of the city to another unnecessarily. That said, if you’re not much of a planner, or don’t know what you need to see, this book breaks it down for you. It introduces you to what Paris has to offer, but it also provides itinerary’s Depending on how long you intend to visit Be it ; 5 hours, 24 hours or 3 days; breaking it down to morning/afternoon and evening. The book itself it filled with lots of interesting places to visit, things to do, things to see. It also has an interesting section on ‘Paris through the year’ so, depending on when you visit, you can plan accordingly; be it ‘Rock en Seine’ a major international rock music festival at the end of August or ‘Foire du TrĂ´ne’ (funfair held in Bois de Vincennes) in March. Though the book itself won’t fit in your pocket, in my own opinion, it’s not too big that you couldn’t carry it in your bag. If you did chose to leave it behind in your hotel room, there is a removal map in the back with a handy plastic coated surface. Perfect if the rain comes, or if you wanted to circle where you’re off to in a non permanent ink. Due to the current Pandemic, I’ve not had a chance to use this book for my cancelled trip, but I will certainly be taking it when this all blows over.

Oh la la

The DK eyewitness books are great for city breaks. The short walks are always informative and interesting and a breakdown of each area and the treasures they hold, gives a great insight into the city.
