It works like a tape measure should
A tape measure only has to have a few things to be successful in my mind. -It has to be built well, it can't fall apart on the job -It has to slide easy and be able to extend without snapping -It has have good markings on it that are easy to view I thought this product accomplished all of these things. It is well built with good weight so it doesn't tip over if you set it done. It has nice grips for holding onto the tape measure, the tape measure can extend to over 10 feet without snapping and it has good clear markings on it. I would recommend this tape measure if you are looking for one.

Professional Carpenter and I use best model frequently. last the longest is the easiest to read and just all-around good quality. Has a long stand out which makes measuring quicker and easier which is important when you're doing it for your living!

I bought this on July 6, 2018 (4 months ago) as a replacement for the previous Stanley Tape measure, which I had for many, many years. So far, I'm quite pleased with this tape measure. I have not had any issues with the tip breaking, like some other reviewers. Also, I like the wide width of the tape on this one more than my previous version. I like being able to stretch it out farther before the tape bends. This is useful when I'm trying to measure some things by myself 'cause no one is around to help me. I also like how the numbers and lines are bigger, which helps my old eyes to be able to read the measurements a bit better and not have to strain so much (Side note: Getting old sucks). Anyways, I definitely recommend this product and have zero complaints about it and I have been using it off and on around the house now for 4 months. P.S. My 8 and 5 year old daughters sometimes play with it and haven't broken it, either. Granted, they aren't boys (and with boys, you know the difference), but the tape measure is still going strong. I'm quite satisfied with my purchase.

The reason I purchased it is for the large clear markings that can be seen from a reasonable distance, AND, for a tape measure that doesn't buckle when trying to extend it beyond my reach... EXAMPLE: I have a Stanley Powerlock 25' 33-425... max flat extension before buckling - 7' 6" COMPARE: Stanley FATMAX 25' 33-725... mas flat extension before buckling - 11' 1" Makes a huge difference when working alone! The Stanley Fatmax has a reinforced bumper material around 75% of the case, making it quiet AND it won't break when you toss it or drop it from the top of a wall. The Tape is Steel and therefore magnets will stick to it! The case is tough feeling plastic with a lock that HOLDS.. you can hold the tape and dangle the locked case and it will not shift at all. Locking function works one-handed as shown in the video. The only steel part of the case is the belt clip, it is steel and will allow you to place the tape measure on a magnetic holding bar. Tape measure has a 3 and 1/8" body if you are including it in your inside dimension measurements. My other Stanley tape bodies are exactly 3" Designed for Right-Handed Reading, pulling the tape with your left hand. All measurement markings are NON-metric. Imperial System Ony. Tape case width is 1 and 15/16" not including the clip. If you have a tape pouch in your belt, this is on the thick side. An excellent coating on tape should last a long time before it wears and begins to rust. I highly recommend the Stanley 25' FatMax Tape Measure for long-lasting accuracy. HEAVY DUTY TAPE MEASURE
I GAVE THIS PRODUCT AS A GIFT AND THE RECIPIENT HAS TOLD ME IT IS VERY GOOD FOR MOST PROJECTS. HOWEVER IT IS CONSIDERABLY WIDER AND STURDIER THAN TYPICAL TAPE MEASURES AND THIS CAN BE A PROBLEM IN TIGHT OR DELICATE PLACES. VERY WELL BUILT AND EXCELLENT FOR WHAT IT WAS DESIGNED.

Good, solid tape measure
This is the best tape measure that I've owned, but that isn't saying a whole lot since I've always purchased cheap ones. I had this thing out to almost 14ft. before falling out! I did that as a test rather than real application, so I'm not sure how valuable that info is. This is just a good, solid, tape measure that's accurate. The lock works great too. One thing to keep in mind is that it's big. Someone with smaller hands may not appreciate it as much as others with larger hands.

Works Perfect. Same Quality as my Old FatMax
My original FatMax. a 35' that was inherited, quickly became my favorite tape measure. From the stiffness of the tape, the amount of spring tension, and positive tape locking. It felt good in my hand and when the tape started to crack from years of use I was worried that the replacement would be of lesser quality than the original as some of the reviews revealed. This model "Classic", was perfect. The 25' is even better than the 35' as it fits in my hand better than the 35'. Never would I have thought a tape measure could bring such happiness.

Well worth the price.
The blade lock is a little bit stiff and does not retract as well as I like if it's pulled out to longer lengths but overall it's a good tape. I love the 11 foot stand out since I work alone that really helps

Great tape! My toddler boys got ahold of my other 25ft tape, so I needed to replace it. Found this one on Amazon for a couple bucks cheaper than the local home improvement store. This is the standard Fatmax, no auto lock or extra bells and whistles, but it’s great.

Nothing beats the standard Stanley FatMax
At work, I had been using a standard inexpensive (cheap) tape measure for both short and long measurements. A co-worker suggested the FatMax and I couldn't be more impressed. It took so much hassle out of simple (and complicated and tricky) measurements, I was amazed. I can get a straight out stand-out from the tape of over 11 feet without the tape collapsing on me. I especially like this product for above grid ceiling measurements, when measuring from a ladder or lift and when making measurements for running and bending conduit (mostly EMT in my case). I've noticed that I am more productive (get the measurements that I need more quickly) and more accurate - the sturdiness of the tape allows more precise free air measurements and the clip at the end is great at grabbing onto anything at your measurement starting point. Unlike the FatMax Extreme, I don't have any size/width or weight issues with this product at all. Another contractor I recently ran into had the FatMax Extreme and it was just way too much - overboard in terms of the width of the tape and the added weight. It was a handful in itself which actually made measurements more difficult. He said that he was definitely going back to the original FatMax (like this one).
